In the midst of February, I am in the process of working on a human interest story on Onesto, a small Italian restaurant started by Craig Stenson, a man with a love of good food, no culinary education, and a dream to start his own pizza place. In this project, along with Will Ahlemeier, I did a news story on my dad's friend's restaurant. This video turned out nicely, though it was a bit of a hassle to film in a crowded and busy kitchen, the final result was worth it. Huge tip of the hat to John Nall, who said he wouldn't interview well, but he turned out to be our best interview next to Mr. Stenson. Also, thank you Mr. Stenson for the complimentary pizza for Will and me upon the finishing of our shooting. The web address for interested customers is www.onestopizza.com
In my Broadcast Technology class, we were assigned to make a Public Service Announcement (PSA). While there were several choices in regard to topic, I chose cancer awareness. I decided to cover the the story of a former student at my school who had passed away the previous summer from leukemia. In this brief, 30 second PSA, I tried to capture the pain of his passing, but also inspire hope for the future and encourage others to help. View the video on my videos page.
